Our Flashpoint Juniors club focuses on learning the key safety skills and the fundamental movement skills (Agility, Balance, Coordination) of climbing. The sessions are focused on having fun and all instruction is age appropriate, meaning the older Flashpoint Juniors will learn through games, activities and drills suitable for their age. For our older group we will start to introduce the idea of light physical training for climbing.

This keeps kids engaged and interested in climbing on a long term basis and will provide them with a safe and fulfilling foundation to carry them through their climbing journey.

They will also be able to complete a large number of climbs as they build up their strength and confidence on our wide variety of boulders.

Flashpoint Juniors sessions are booked on a term block basis. Some terms will cost more than others depending on how many weeks are in a school term.

What is NICAS Climbing?

NICAS Climbing is a UK-wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing structures. They’re a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering, from novice to experienced, starting from age 7.

NICAS Climbing has five progressive levels of award for complete novices to expert climbers. The scheme is split into two parts and takes a minimum of 80 hours to complete Levels 1 to 4 and an additional year to complete Level 5. Part one contains Levels 1 to 3 and part two contains Levels 4 and 5.

Flashpoint Juniors 7-11 and 11+ follow NICAS levels 1 – 4. Our Academy and Competition squad follows NICAS level 5.

Please arrive 10 minutes early – it takes a little time to check your paperwork and get your shoes fitted.

Getting here: We are easy to get to via car, train, or on foot. Find us on google maps Here

Parking: There is plenty of parking at Freemans Parc and the car park has no time limit or closing hours.

What to wear: Wear loose comfortable clothing (what you would wear to the gym). It can be a little chilly in the winter, so make sure you have some warm clothes. However, you will warm up while climbing – wearing ‘layers’ that can be added or removed as required is ideal. Please bring some thin socks to wear with the climbing shoes.

Lockers: We have free to use lockers, which require your own padlocks (available at reception).  However we cannot take responsibility for your valuables, so ideally do not bring anything of significant value to the centre.

Café: We have a great café serving coffee, cake and soft drinks.

Gift Vouchers: Please book using your voucher by calling us on 029 2233 7227 or booking in person.
