Bouldering Workshop – UYG (Up Your Grade)

Up Your Grade: Our UYG course is aimed at people climbing V3-V5 at Flashpoint or outside, with the aim to give you the tools to break through in to the higher grades. We cover intermediate techniques and the 4 week course allows you time to practice and build on what you’ve learnt as the weeks progress. All 4 sessions are 1.5 hours and we encourage participants to come to the session warm, and cool down on their own so we can spend the whole 1.5 hours coaching.

Week 1: Technique – learn your twistlocks from your dropknees and when to use them
Week 2: Tactics – gain an advantage before you even pull onto that project
Week 3: Physical – how to train to boost physical performance on the wall
Week 4: Psychology – understanding the mental aspect of climbing

£100 for non-members (£60 for members & passpack customers)

Parking: There is plenty of parking at Freemans Parc and the car park has no time limit or closing hours.

These bouldering workshops are great for improving specific skills but are done in a group setting. If you’re looking to get an assessment of skills you could build or want an individualised plan, check out our 1:1 coaching sessions.

Please arrive 10 minutes early – it takes a little time to check your paperwork and get your shoes fitted.

Getting here: We are easy to get to via car, train, or on foot. Find us on google maps Here

Parking: There is plenty of parking at Freemans Parc and the car park has no time limit or closing hours.

What to wear: Wear loose comfortable clothing (what you would wear to the gym). It can be a little chilly in the winter, so make sure you have some warm clothes. However, you will warm up while climbing – wearing ‘layers’ that can be added or removed as required is ideal. Please bring some thin socks to wear with the climbing shoes.

Lockers: We have free to use lockers, which require your own padlocks (available at reception).  However we cannot take responsibility for your valuables, so ideally do not bring anything of significant value to the centre.

Café: We have a great café serving coffee, cake and soft drinks.

Gift Vouchers: Please book using your voucher by calling us on 029 2233 7227 or booking in person.

You can cancel your bookings so long as you give us reasonable notice. This is different depending on what type of session you have booked.

Single Sessions: 72 hrs notice required
Parties: 7 days notice required.
Term Bookings: 7 days notice required (from the first session)
